About Us

Charnwood Rutland Netball Club launched in 2017 following a merger of two of the biggest and most successful clubs in the region (Charnwood Sapphires in Loughborough and Rutland Rockets in Oakham). The merger made us the biggest club in the East Midlands with 220+ playing members. We train players from the age of 8+ into adulthood, offering both a performance and development pathway. The club has 20 teams playing in various local leagues in Leicester and Loughborough. The club is also renowned for its regional strength with teams in the East Midlands regional league and two U16 and U14 teams in the top East Midlands league.
Our senior first team play in the National premier league and our U16 & U14 performance teams qualified for 2023 National Clubs Finals.

Our Head Coach Sam Griffin is also the Assistant Head Coach for Manchester Thunder U21 & U19 Squads. and former U19 Loughborough Lightning Head coach. We also currently boast many top individual athletes, with over 20 players in Loughborough Lightning Performance Pathway and further athletes in the England Netball County Academy.

Whilst boasting about our impressive stats we also are keen to make this club have a close knit family feel and aim to ensure that all players feel part of our club community. We hold many social events and always welcome new members whatever level you wish to play at.
