Charnwood Rutland Netball Club launched in 2017 following a merger of two of the biggest and most successful clubs in the region (Charnwood Sapphires in Loughborough and Rutland Rockets in Oakham). The merger made us the biggest club in the East Midlands with 220+ playing members.
From September 2024 the club moved to a performance model. We train players from the age of 8+ into adulthood. The club has many teams playing in various local leagues in Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham. The club is also renowned for its regional strength two U16 and two U14 teams in the East Midlands Regional Junior league. We have two senior teams in the East Midland's Regional Adult League. Our senior first team play in the National premier league and our U14 team qualified for 2023 & 2024 National Clubs Finals.
Our Head Coach Sam Griffin is also the Assistant Head Coach for Nottingham Forest U23 NPL and former Loughborough Lightning and Manchester Thunder pathway coach. We also currently boast many top individual athletes, with players in Loughborough Lightning and Nottingham Forest Performance Pathway and further athletes in the England Netball County Academy.
Places in the club are offered after a successful trial at one of our training sessions. Training takes place on Mondays at Martin High, Anstey and Wednesdays at Charnwood College, Loughborough.
