Charnwood Rutland Warriors travelled to Jersey this weekend to face Jersey Jets in their second National Prem match. Only eight of the Warriors travelled for the match with four of the eight being youngsters so they knew they faced a tough test.
Warriors finished the first quarter with a lead of 2 goals with Bailey creating a solid link between attack and defence. With this narrow lead Warriors had the confidence to push on through the second quarter increasing their lead by five due to hard work turning ball over in defence from Oakman ,Hymas and McGlynn finishing it 30-23.
Warriors took to the court in the second half with the aim of extending their lead. Gallacher continued to be consistent with her shooting accuracy and linking well with Griffin to begin to extend their lead. In the final quarter warriors began with a lead of 12 and continued to play fluent netball with Welsh and Brock-Taylor linking well to keep possession in the mid-court. Displaying some excellent all-court play the Warriors came away with the win 57-46. Another solid squad performance against an experienced Jersey Jets makes it two out of two wins in National Prem.
