In the sixth game of the National Premier League season, Charnwood Rutland Warriors were looking for their fifth win on Sunday against Kent County who were sitting bottom of the table at the start of the game.
Kent came out the stronger team in the first quarter leaving Charnwood trailing 10-14 after the first 15 minutes.
During the second quarter Charnwood came out fighting and showed more composure throughout the whole of the court. Warriors won the second quarter 16-6, meaning they lead 26-20 going in to the second half.
At half time both teams, officials and supporters all held a minutes silence in honour of Remembrance Sunday.
At the break Charnwood made three changes to their mid-court and with the defence piling on the pressure, Warriors had another strong quarter. The score finished 44-30 going in to the last 15 minutes of the game.
Warriors continued to extend their lead in the final quarter, with all 11 members of the squad taking to the court and a final quarter score of 20-6 in their favour. Charnwood secured the win with a final score of 64-36.
Charnwood’s next game is on 25th November where they travel to Brighton for a top of the table clash vs Sussex Thunder who are yet to lose this season.
