Warriors took to the court for the first time in 2019 in the National Prem league against Jersey Jets at home. Both teams fought hard until the last second, but Warriors took the win comfortably, 63-27.
In the first quarter, both teams had a strong start contesting for every ball. However, Charnwood began to gain a lead as they settled into the match. Charnwood ended the first quarter with a lead of 17-6, making them eager to increase their league in the second quarter.
During the second quarter from attack all the way down to defence Charnwood continued to make even more turn overs and pushed to extend their lead to 35-12, wining the quarter by a big margin of 18-6. With the lead big enough they were able to bring fresh legs off the bench to perform.
The third quarter was a big quarter for warriors to settle with the new players on the court. Credit to Jersey Jets they contested the game massively and took some turnovers, but warriors didn’t let it affect their play, taking the lead even further and winning the quarter 15-5, pulling the lead out to 50-17.
In the final quarter warriors had a massive lead however they maintained composure and possession through the court and took every goal possible. Ending the game with a big win for warriors 63-27, the last quarter warriors was much closer with warriors just taking it 13-10, showing that Jets weren’t giving up and each team gave everything until the final whistle.
